For photographers

Reliable coverage.
No ego.

Available for second shooting and select photo/video support in Birmingham, across the Southeast, and for destination work.

If you need someone you can hand a part of the day to without hovering, that is the role I want to fill: follow your timeline, protect your primary angles, solve lighting problems, and come back with useful coverage.

For now, use the main inquiry form, choose Other for coverage, and include your studio, hours needed, rate, and deliverable expectations.

What you can hand me

Coverage that supports
the lead photographer.

01

Independent coverage

Groom prep, details, alternate ceremony angles, cocktail hour, reception coverage, guest interactions, and the parts of the timeline that need a photographer working somewhere else.

02

Difficult light

Comfortable with on-camera flash, off-camera lighting, dark receptions, mixed color temperatures, and creating controlled light when ambient conditions are not enough.

03

Photo + video awareness

My background includes both stills and motion, so I understand shared sight lines, clean audio, timecode workflows, and how not to make life harder for the other camera team.

04

Professional restraint

Your client relationship, creative direction, and workflow stay yours. I follow the agreed approach, stay clear of primary angles, and direct independently only when the assignment calls for it.

Working style

Useful is better
than flashy.

Second shooting is support work. The goal is not to duplicate the lead photographer's coverage or build my own parallel wedding day.

  • Follow the lead's timeline, priorities, dress expectations, and client-facing preferences.
  • Stay aware of primary camera positions during ceremonies, portraits, entrances, speeches, and first dances.
  • Cover assigned people or spaces independently instead of waiting to be managed frame by frame.
  • Match the agreed file-delivery workflow and hand off media promptly.
  • Communicate early about anything that could affect coverage rather than creating a surprise on the wedding day.

Working kit

Gear inventory.

The equipment matters less than knowing how to use it, but compatibility and redundancy matter when you are hiring another photographer. This is the working inventory I currently list for second-shooter conversations.
